Spotlight Interview

Jaime Toney
If you don’t know who Jaime “The Ghost” Toney is in MMA, there may be a reason for that. Even though he has a decisive victory over TUF winner Tony Ferguson, according to Toney, the UFC does not want him on the show regardless of who he may have beat. Toney is (16-6-0) as a professional mixed martial artist training under Bas Rutten. He tells WV Fights Sports Radio despite having just 16 months prior defeated The Ultimate Fighter season 13 winner that the producers of the show already had Fergouson picked as a winner going into the show. He claims to been through the process of TUF tryouts for the UFC approximately 4 times and with each encounter is either cut right away or right before the time to start the program while as what Toney refers to as “turds” are picked to be one of the 16 participants. He isn’t sure what it is their looking for as he talks about being denied not just once but multiple times by not only the UFC but for the up and coming Bellator version of TUF. He may not be what the UFC or Bellator is looking for and now he plans to move on with no desire to be associated with either promotion for the time being. Despite his difficulty breaking into sports entertainment, he has loads of success in other venues of entertainment. He is involved in a project on the Outdoor Channel that sounds exciting. He also talks about his newest opportunity to travel as a personal trainer for a famous pop star and her husband. He leads us into the next portion of the conversation naming PINK and her husband Carey Heart as clients. However he denies that PINK is the famous pop star he may plan on training while traveling. To listen to exactly what he has to say about The Ultimate Fighter and many of the other adventures he has been involved in tune in to the link below.
